Set your child up for success by starting with things organized in a way they can understand. Are the labels clear? Are the materials accessible? Is there a dedicated space inviting play? Considering these factors facilitates more independent play, and overall creates more successful interactions within the space.
Playroom organization is the key to children staying engaged in their play. Feeling overwhelmed by the playroom can lead to unwanted behaviors, short attention spans, and what we call "pointless play." That would be the opposite of purposeful play if that wasn't clear!
A child wants to feel empowered by their space. It builds a natural level of confidence that cannot be taught. When your child owns their play from start to finish, you will see how differently they interact with the world around them.
No matter the age or stage, a properly conceptualized space will reinforce the skills critical for a child's healthy development and elicit more positive play interactions.
